Naginata
Naginata refers both to a Japanese halberd-like weapon and the martial art developed for wielding it. Though competitive modern naginata was developed in the last century, its forms and techniques can be traced to schools founded hundreds of years ago. Historically in Japan, naginata training has been more common for women, but currently at least as many men as women practice naginata in the US.
